BREAKING!:NADECO (National Democratic Coalition) calls on Tinubu to resign following allegations of certificate forgery.

Published

on

In a significant development, the pro-democracy group National Democratic Coalition (NADECO) has issued a compelling call for President Bola Tinubu’s resignation. The call stems from allegations of certificate forgery, notably at Chicago State University, among other concerns.

Lloyd Ukwu, the Executive Director of NADECO USA, emphasized the gravity of the situation in a press statement released on Thursday. He asserted that the responsibilities aligned with the office of the President of Nigeria necessitate the highest levels of integrity and adherence to the rule of law.

“The allegations of forgery, if proven true, not only cast a shadow over the presidency but also undermine the credibility of Nigeria on the international stage,” Ukwu declared.

Highlighting NADECO’s historical role as a vocal advocate for democracy, transparency, and accountability in Nigeria, Ukwu underscored the organization’s deep concern regarding recent allegations surrounding the authenticity of President Tinubu’s academic credentials.

He stated, “NADECO being a prominent voice for democracy, transparency, and accountability in Nigeria, is deeply concerned about recent allegations regarding the authenticity of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s academic credentials. In light of the evidence pointing towards forgery of a certificate from Chicago State University, NADECO calls upon President Tinubu to resign from his position as the President of the most populous black country in the world.”

This call from NADECO adds a significant voice to the ongoing discourse surrounding the allegations against President Tinubu, further amplifying the scrutiny on the matter.

Forgery is a serious offense both in the United States and Nigeria, carrying severe legal consequences. According to U.S. law, the penalty for forgery can include imprisonment and fines. In Nigeria, forgery is a criminal offense under various sections of the Criminal Code and Penal Code, with potential penalties ranging from imprisonment to fines, depending on the circumstances.

“NADECO believes that holding a position of such immense responsibility as the President of Nigeria requires the utmost integrity and adherence to the rule of law. The allegations of forgery, if proven true, not only cast a shadow over the presidency but also undermine the credibility of Nigeria on the international stage. Such actions risk bringing international embarrassment to our great nation.

“Furthermore, NADECO emphasizes that leaders must set an example for the citizens they represent. Upholding the highest ethical standards is not only a legal requirement but a moral imperative for anyone holding public office. We urge President Tinubu to step down voluntarily in the interest of preserving the integrity of the presidency and the nation.”

He observed that Nigeria was currently grappling with myriads of challenges, stressing that with the allegations of forgery, the Tinubu was already distracted and was rather leading the country to “international embarrassment”.

He added, “In these challenging times, Nigeria needs a leader who can focus on the pressing issues facing our country, such as security, economic stability, and social development, without the distraction of forgery allegations. A voluntary resignation would demonstrate a commitment to the principles of accountability and transparency that NADECO has long advocated for.

“NADECO calls upon all relevant authorities, both in Nigeria and the United States, to thoroughly investigate these allegations to ensure justice is served. We also urge President Tinubu to reflect upon the gravity of the situation, consider the best interests of Nigeria and its people and resign.”

“ How can you pardon your son and ignore other people that have been there for years,That is abuse of power” – Donald Trump to Biden

Former President Donald Trump has expressed his dissatisfaction with President Joe Biden’s decision to pardon his son while others who committed similar crimes remain in prison. Trump didn’t mince words, stating:

“How can you pardon your son and ignore other people that have been there for years? That is abuse of power.”

He went on to emphasize the unfairness of the situation, adding:

“Your son committed a crime, the same crime that other people committed, and they have been in prison for years. What happens to them after you free your son? That is abuse of power. People should be treated the same in America.”

Trump’s remarks highlight a broader concern about equal treatment under the law and the potential misuse of presidential power. His critique implies that Biden’s actions set a precedent that undermines the justice system, sparking debates across political and social platforms.

The issue has stirred significant controversy, with many questioning whether the pardon reflects favoritism. While Biden’s supporters may argue that his decision was personal, critics like Trump see it as an affront to the principles of fairness and justice in America.

“Why will flavour call kcee copy copy akaria” –  these men are doing well in their lane, and because I am biased towards Flavour’s music, I will not speak ill of Kcee’s efforts, fan said

Kcee released an album titled Mr Versatile around July 2024. If he didn’t react to Flavour’s “copy copy akaria”, I wouldn’t know he released an album this year.

I enjoy the music of both illustrious sons of Ala Igbo. If I were at a wedding reception or inside the bedroom, I would hear more of Flavour’s songs. At a club, I would hear a mixture of Kcee and Flavour’s songs. If I were at a burial, I would hear Flavour’s songs more.

If I sampled the opinions of 30 random men and women between 40 and 60 years old who they preferred between both artists, many would say Flavour.

When Kcee called Flavour a needle in the ocean of things that matter, I assume he may be referring to another thing and not music. When it comes to music, Flavour is the ocean.

Kcee made an important point by stating no one should gatekeep the Igbo culture, and I agree with him. Anyone who feels their creative juice connects to their Igbo culture should create authentic sounds that will remain evergreen in our hearts and not belittle others for trying.

Before Flavour released his 2005 album N’abania, KC Presh (Kcee and Presh) had toured the country after their Star Quest success in 2002. Both men have come a long way and invested so much in their crafts.

Both men are doing well in their lane, and because I am biased towards Flavour’s music, I will not speak ill of Kcee’s efforts. We all have access to the Internet, streaming and concert numbers. You can be the judge.

Today, judging from current statistics of active musicians, no Igbo artist is more prominent than Flavour of Africa.

You may not like a man because you don’t have access to him, or both of you don’t roll, but don’t discredit his hard work.
