Real Madrid secures the top spot with a commanding 3-0 victory against Girona.

Real Madrid showcased their dominance over Girona with an impressive 3-0 triumph on Saturday, subsequently reclaiming the coveted top spot in LaLiga. The victory, achieved through goals by Joselu, Aurelien Tchouameni, and Jude Bellingham, propelled Madrid to 21 points from eight games, edging ahead of Barcelona in the standings. In his post-match commentary, Real Madrid’s tactician, Carlo Ancelotti, commended his team for a solid defensive display and convincing gameplay, emphasizing the significance of defensive solidity in such fixtures.

Despite Girona’s early threats, Real Madrid weathered the storm and seized the lead in the 17th minute with Joselu’s well-timed finish from Bellingham’s exquisite cross. Tchouameni extended Madrid’s lead just four minutes later, cleverly evading his marker to head Toni Kroos’s corner into the net. The first half saw Bellingham and Kroos testing Girona’s goalkeeper, Paulo Gazzaniga, with notable attempts.

Girona, undeterred, continued their offensive efforts in the second half, coming close to scoring through Aleix García’s cross for Yangel Herrera. However, Madrid’s resistance remained steadfast.

In the 71st minute, Joselu’s well-placed pass found Bellingham, who expertly volleyed home, securing his seventh goal across all competitions for Madrid and sealing the comprehensive victory.

While Madrid celebrated their success, there was a bittersweet moment in added time when Nacho received a red card following a VAR review for a high tackle on Portu. Ancelotti acknowledged the mistake, expressing regret for the incident and hoping for no serious consequences for the Girona player.

Looking ahead, Real Madrid faces Napoli in the Champions League before a home fixture against Osasuna, while Girona prepares for a clash against Cadiz next Saturday. The win and subsequent developments provide an intriguing backdrop as the season unfolds, underscoring both the team’s prowess and the occasional challenges faced in the dynamic realm of football.

When we board a plane, it’s often a scramble to turn off our phones’ Wi-Fi for ‘safety reasons,’ but what’s the real issue?

Flying comes with well-known safety protocols: seatbelt on, no standing during takeoff and landing. But why the rush to power down our devices?

EasyJet pilot Chris Foster shed light on the importance of ‘airplane mode,’ calling the rule outdated. He explained, “Modern aircraft control systems wouldn’t be affected.”

He emphasized that regulations stem from a pre-iPad era and are gradually relaxing. “You can now use devices in flight safety mode,” he added.

There are reasons airlines ask for phones to be turned off. The Civil Aviation Authority noted that some carriers allow device use but only after safety tests ensure no interference.

Before you zone out on your next flight, note that policies vary by airline. Passengers are always briefed by cabin crew on device usage.

Turning off phones isn’t just about safety; it’s also to prevent cell tower overload, especially at low altitudes. In the US, passengers can face fines for failing to comply.
